Karen has strong track record of leading mission-based organizations, programs, and conferences toward success. From marketing, management, sales, and event production to information architecture Karen is known to take things from 30mph to 90mph. Karen’s work has infused life into The UNEP Tunza International Children’s Conference on The Environment, The Foundation for Civic Leadership, The San Francisco Institute of Architecture, The Downtown Berkeley YMCA, West Coast Green, The Patagonian Foundation, ElefantAsia, The Clean Tech Open, and more.
Chloe is full of energy and enthusiasm. Fascinated by the world and people she encounters, she is fueled by a curiosity to understand everyone and everything. She harnesses her perceptive abilities and open mind to cultivate collaboration, facilitate solutions, and inspire creative problem solving.
Having both a love of design and a nerdy aptitude towards all things technical, she started her career by studying architecture at Washington University in St. Louis. She branched out to create her own field of study, Social Design, and then founded (and built with her own two hands!) the school’s first housing Co-op.Propelled to change the status quo through good design, she started working at HKIT Architects, a firm that specializes in public buildings. After 1.5 years she transitioned to work on the business side of green building at West Coast Green, the famous San Francisco conference on green innovation.
As the Marketing Director, Chloe became a manager extraordinaire, using her energy and attentiveness to lead the team and her systems thinking to build the manage the processes that drew thousands of people to the event.In the dawn of 2010, Chloe and Karen founded Ecotone Creative in order to apply their business development, marketing, and “getting it done” skills to projects around the world. Since then, Chloe has brought her energy and intelligence to the snowy peaks of Patagonia, the dry hills of California, and the lush valleys of Laos.
